Empty Hahn Recital Hall with Piano

Formerly Choral Hall, Hahn Recital Hall is adjacent to Sursa Hall in the Music Instruction Building and is an intimate 150-seat rehearsal and recital hall with excellent acoustical tuning capabilities. In 2017, it was named in honor of the Hahn Family, whose members include retired Ball State faculty Dale and Beth Hahn and their niece Hilary Hahn, internationally acclaimed, Grammy Award-winning solo violinist.

During the day, the hall is used for choral rehearsals, studio classes, small ensemble rehearsals, master classes, and composition and conducting classes. In the evening, it transforms to a recital hall for our chamber music ensembles, student and faculty recitals, and guest artist recitals.

Similar to Sursa Performance Hall, Hahn Recital Hall is linked to the recording facilities on the building’s second floor and performances can be recorded remotely or on site.
