The Miller College of Business offers many scholarships and awards for full-time undergraduate and graduate students in business majors, totaling more than $800,000 annually. On average, 200 unique students receive scholarship funding. Awards are made based on fund availability and criteria.

Scholarships for Incoming Freshmen

The Miller Leadership Academy (MLA) scholarship requires an application, which will be on your Cardinal Landing Portal.

All incoming freshmen (current high school students admitted to Ball State) are automatically considered for the remaining awards designated for first-year students. No separate application is required for these. Selection criteria vary for each scholarship.

Scholarships for Current Students

To be eligible for a scholarships for Miller College of Business students applicants must:

  • be enrolled as a full-time student at Ball State University during the terms of the award (Undergraduate and Graduate Students are eligible)
  • be a Miller College of Business major

Students do not need to fill out an application! All eligible students with a major in the Miller College of Business are automatically considered for scholarship opportunities within the college.

Each spring, Miller College of Business students are automatically considered for scholarship opportunities within the college. Our scholarship award system matches students with any scholarship opportunity in which they meet the eligibility criteria. For example, if you are a Miller College student with a 3.5 or higher GPA, you're automatically considered for any scholarship that contains that criterion.

Scholarships and awards are supported primarily by donations to the Ball State University Foundation. A small percentage of donors require that financial need be established for the award of the scholarship. To be considered for awards requiring financial need, you must submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible. Most other awards may be made based on scholastic achievement without regard to financial need. 

Sample criteria for scholarship eligibility include, but are not limited to:

  • Grade point average
  • Major
  • Classification (i.e., year in school)
  • Hometown or county
  • Financial Need

Award recipients will be notified by the university through their Ball State email account starting in late spring.
