The Business Finance concentration prepares students to make strategic financial decisions through a curriculum that combines practical skills with a global perspective. In addition to core finance coursework, students take specialized classes in financial statement analysis, bank management, real estate, risk management and insurance, and global finance.
You’ll gain a conceptual framework for evaluating financial statements, managing bank operations, understanding regulatory systems, valuing and financing real estate, and assessing risk from both domestic and international perspectives.

Students interested in personal financial planning can take additional coursework to earn a minor in Financial Planning. Ball State’s finance program is registered with the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Board, meaning it meets educational requirements for the CFP Certification Examination.
Students focused on the insurance and risk management industry may also choose to add a minor in Risk Management and Insurance to strengthen their credentials.
