The Center for Business and Economic Research is located in the heart of Ball State University's campus in Muncie, Indiana – about one hour northeast of Indianapolis and two hours south of Fort Wayne.
The Whitinger Business Building is directly east of Shafer Tower. Our office is in the southeast corner of the first floor (WB 149).

Where to Park
The P2 Visitor Lot lies north of Petty Ave. and can be accessed from McKinley Ave.
- A pay box is located at the southwest edge of the lot.
- Enter your license plate number and payment at the pay box.
- Cash and card accepted—$1/hour or $5/day.
Walking Directions
- After paying, cross Petty/Neely Ave. and head toward the stoplight.
- Turn right and walk to Shafer Tower.
- Cross McKinley Ave. and walk toward Frog Baby Fountain.
- The main entrance to the Whitinger Business Building is near the fountain.
- Once inside, head to the right and walk to the back of the building.
- CBER is the first office on the right—WB 149.
The P7 Visitor Lot can be accessed from Riverside Ave. between the Applied Technology Building and Warwick Rd.
- Pay boxes are located at the northeast and southwest corners of the lot.
- Enter your license plate number and payment at the pay box.
- Cash and card accepted—$1/hour or $5/day.

- After paying, walk east to cross McKinley Ave.
- Turn left, toward Shafer Tower, and walk north past Bracken Library.
- Turn right and walk toward Frog Baby Fountain.
- The main entrance to the Whitinger Business Building is near the fountain.
- Once inside, head to the right and walk to the back of the building.
- CBER is the first office on the right—WB 149.
The R5 Restricted Parking Lot lies between the Architecture Building, Noyer Residence Complex, and the Whitinger Business Building. It is accessible from Neely Ave.
- Locate the stop sign on Neely Ave. between McKinley Ave. and New York Ave.
- Turn south to enter the R5 Restricted Parking Lot.
- Once parked, follow the construction fence south to the bike path.
- The Whitinger Business Building is a 3-storey brick building to the right of the bike path.
- The south entrance to WB is around the corner, near a row of bike racks.
- Once inside the building, CBER is the first office on the right—WB 149.
Note: The R5 Restricted Lot requires a specific restricted parking pass. Spaces are limited due to construction work.
Handicap parking is available; however, you must display your visitor permit from Parking Services as well as your state-issued placard or license plate.
The R6 Parking Garage lies south of the Studebaker Residence Halls, off of New York Ave. Visitor parking is on the first floor.
- Pay boxes are located at the southwest and northeast corners.
- Enter your license plate number and payment at the pay box.
- Cash and card accepted—$1/hour or $5/day.
Walking Directions
- After paying, exit through the west doors and past the pond.
- Continue west on the sidewalk between the amphitheater and the Noyer Residence Complex.
- Turn right at the bike path and walk north.
- The Whitinger Business Building is a 3-storey brick building on the west side of the path.
- Use the south entrance to WB.
- Once inside, CBER is the first office on the right—WB 149.
The R7 Parking Garage lies south of the Music Instruction Building and can be accessed from Ashland Ave. Visitor parking is on the first floor.
- A pay box is located at the northeast corner of the lot.
- Enter your license plate number and payment at the pay box.
- Cash and card accepted—$1/hour or $5/day.
Walking Directions
- After paying, head north to Riverside Ave. and cross the street.
- The East Mall Bike Path lies between Emens Auditorium and Woodworth Residence Hall.
- Follow the path north.
- The Whitinger Business Building is a 3-storey brick building on the west side of the path.
- Use the south entrance near the bike racks.
- CBER is the first office on the right—WB 149.
The R8 Parking Garage lies south of the L.A. Pittenger Student Center. It is accessible from North St. and from College Ave. Visitor parking is available on the first floor.
- A pay box is located at the north edge of the lot.
- Enter your license plate number and payment at the pay box.
- Cash and card accepted—$1/hour or $5/day.

- After paying, walk east to McKinley Ave.
- Turn left and walk several blocks north toward Shafer Tower.
- Before reaching the tower, cross McKinley Ave. and walk toward Frog Baby Fountain.
- The main entrance to the Whitinger Business Building is near the fountain.
- Once inside, head to the right and walk to the back of the building.
- CBER is the first office on the right—WB 149.
Visitors who purchase a $5 visitor permit from Parking Services may park in any General Staff Lot (yellow lot) or Commuter Student Lot (green lot). For full details and a list of parking options, contact the Office of Parking Services.
Additional Information
Please note, there is no overnight parking in campus parking garages—R6, R7, & R8. All vehicles parked in a campus garage must be removed 3:30 a.m.–5:00 a.m. Remaining vehicles will be towed at the owner's expense.
