Mark Parkison serves as a major Academic Advisor in the Miller College of Business. He works primarily with students majoring in Marketing and Professional Selling but also other business majors. Mark focuses on providing guidance and support to help students succeed as they navigate their college journey to graduation.

Mark graduated from the Miller College of Business in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He worked on the audit staff of Arthur Andersen in Indianapolis before returning to Ball State to complete a master’s degree in Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education in 1995. Mark then worked in the Ball State Career Center for five years before moving to Academic Advising in 2001. Since then, he has advised first-year students, student-athletes, and upper division students, as well as serving as an advising administrator for 11 years.

Mark grew up in nearby Parker City (20 minutes from campus) and comes from an extended family full of Ball State Cardinals with around 30 alumni dating back to the 1930s! Mark and his wife, Jill, have two daughters and a very active Labrador Retriever named Charlie.

In his spare time, Mark enjoys spending time with his family, attending New Life Presbyterian Church in Yorktown, following baseball (Cincinnati Reds) and hockey (Washington Capitals), reading about U.S. history, and just recently starting to play pickleball.
