Mark Parkison
Academic Advisor
Mark Parkison serves as an Academic Advisor in the Miller College of Business and works primarily with students majoring in Marketing and Professional Selling.
Mark graduated from the Miller College of Business in 1990 with a B.S. in Accounting. He worked on the audit staff of Arthur Andersen in Indianapolis before returning to Ball State to complete a M.A. in Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education in 1995. Mark then worked in the Ball State Career Center for five years before moving to Academic Advising in 2001. Since then, he has advised first-year students, student-athletes, and upper division students, as well as serving as an advising administrator for 11 years.
Mark grew up in nearby Parker City and comes from an extended family full of Ball State Cardinals with around 30 alumni dating back to the 1930s. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, attending New Life Presbyterian Church in Yorktown, following baseball (Cincinnati Reds) and hockey (Washington Capitals), reading about U.S. history, and playing pickleball. Mark and his wife, Jill, have two daughters and a Labrador Retriever named Charlie.
