Ball State University’s Office of Immersive Learning is pleased to accept proposals for the financial support of immersive learning projects.The Provost Immersive Learning Pilot Projects/One-Time Grant program provides financial support for one-time immersive learning projects or pilot projects that have not been funded before. Applications for this grant are submitted by the proposed project’s faculty mentor and must be approved by the applicant’s department chair and college dean. The deadline for the Fall 2026 Provost immersive Learning Pilot Grant is September 18, 2026.

Aspire Alpha Support

Joseph and Marcella Hollis Award

Aspire Alpha support aims to support new tenure-track faculty members to jumpstart their research and creative arts agenda. Alpha Support assists new faculty in purchasing supplies and research-related items and assists in travel by offering a one-time SEET grant.

The Joseph and Marcella Hollis Award is for faculty and students who wish to conduct psychology-based research projects. This competition is open for Graduate Students and Faculty Members only.

Provides support to aid in expenses associated with publication, reprints, article processing or open access charges, page charges, and subventions.

The Aspire Creative Arts Program wishes to support students in their creation or presentation of creative works. Eligible projects are usually found in the categories of music, theater, dance visual arts, and creative writing. Please see our guidelines for a more detailed list of examples.

Support can be used for open access, peer-reviewed publications listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals or for publication in subscription journals that allow some articles to become available openly based on a published fee schedule (sometimes known as hybrid open access).

Immersive learning brings together student-driven teams guided by faculty mentors to create high-impact learning experiences. Through immersive learning, students earn credit for working collaboratively with businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies to address community challenges. The faculty awards recognize faculty who have led outstanding projects. The deadline for nominations is February 26, 2027.
