These programs provide food safety, food security, education and community health for the well-being of the faculty, staff, students, and visitors while engaged in their education, work, and recreational activities on campus.

Other functions include the implementation of the Legionella control program, assisting in the environmental control of communicable disease, water sampling, community educational efforts, and other practices. These activities include maintaining compliance with applicable federal, state and/or local laws, regulations and Ball State University policies, and acting as a liaison with the Indiana State Department of Health, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Delaware County Health Department.
