These programs provide for the chemical, physical, and
biological safety, security, and community health for faculty, staff, students,
and visitors while engaged in their educational, work, and related activities
on campus.

Other functions include environmental control
of communicable disease, chemical exposures, or infectious agents through measures
such as sampling and analysis, disinfection, restrictions or exclusions, educational
efforts, and other practices. These activities require maintaining compliance
with the varied requirements and standards of numerous regulatory agencies, as
well as Ball State University policies.
