Maplewood Guest House a Medical Student Community, in partnership with Indiana University School of Medicine – Muncie and the Ball Brothers Foundation, is operated and managed by Ball State University and provides convenient housing accommodations for medical students working in or near East Central Indiana.
The guest house, in the historic former home of William C. and Emma Ball, is located on the beautiful grounds of Minnetrista, close to Ball State University and IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

You'll have your own bedroom, which includes a queen-sized bed, dresser, TV, private bathroom, and individual thermostat. We have an accessible bedroom on the first floor.
Maintain your physical wellness in our convenient, on-site fitness room
You can prepare full meals using high-end, stainless steel appliances in our eat-in kitchen. This includes pots and pans. We also have a full dining room and breakfast nook.
Our third floor community room is a great place to relax with other residents. We have a TV area, pool table, and computers that hook up to a printer.
Enjoy a fresh breeze and sunset over the White River from our second-floor, screened-in balcony.
We have a washer and dryer on site, which you can use free of charge. (You will need to provide your own detergent.) Also, we have parking lots for residents and visitors close to the house. And all utilities are covered, including TV and wireless internet. The house has both heat and central air conditioning. Our own staff provides routine maintenance and repairs.

Our students get to use Maplewood Guest House as an immersive learning experience, where they gain hands-on experience managing a boutique apartment building.
Our property management students have created a resident handbook, developed a Facebook page as part of a marketing plan, and helped set up and maintain our operation through other projects. And the hospitality innovation and leadership program has a 50-hour pre-internship requirement where students help with day-to-day operations.
