The auditorium seats 3,309:

Disabled seating is available on both levels.

Production Office

Small office located stage right. The room is outfitted with make-up tables, mirrors, lights, chairs, and a toilet facility, allowing it to serve as a star dressing room. Additional locations are available upon request.

Stage Dressing Rooms

Two star dressing rooms are located stage left; both have make-up tables, mirrors, lights, chairs, a shower, a sink, and toilet facilities.

Chorus Dressing Rooms

Three connected rooms (shaped in a horse-shoe) that can also be divided into three smaller rooms. All are equipped with make-up tables, mirrors, lights, chairs, showers, toilets and sinks. Two additional restroom and shower facilities are available off of the green room.

Green Room

Furnished with leather couch and chair, sofa and end tables, a large area rug, and lamps. The room is located adjacent to the chorus dressing room, catering/wardrobe area, and laundry room.

Catering/Wardrobe Area

Large multi-purpose room located next to the green room and chorus dressing room. This space can be outlined with wardrobe cases and work tables, or it can serve as a catering area where it can seat 60 people for a buffet meal.

Laundry Facility

Located adjacent to green room and chorus dressing room, it has two washers, two dryers, a utility sink, folding table, wardrobe racks, steamers, and irons.

High-speed wireless available with connection to our “bsuguest” network.

House Opening Times

Exterior doors open 60 minutes before show time. Interior (house) doors open can open as late as 30 minutes before show time.

Loading Dock

Stage entrance door is 10-foot-by-10-foot. The loading dock has two dock levelers that can accommodate two 53-foot trailers. Parking for three buses available near stage entrance. Shore power available.

Dock access is located on the north side of the building via Neely Avenue. Follow signs for ‘Emens Dock.’

Emens Auditorium has hosted many performers, receptions, banquets, conventions and meetings in its 3,309 seat Auditorium and auxiliary spaces. Our lounges, lobbies, dressing rooms, stage, and seating capacities provide flexibility to meet the needs of many organizations.

Items that are often requested by our clients and are available in-house include tables (6 feet, 8 feet, or 30-inch cocktail), table clothes and skirting, chairs, easels, stanchions, merchandise display, portable sound system, towels, Corelle dishes, stainless steel cutlery, coffee pots and tea kettles.

Though the University abounds with resources too numerous to mention them all, vital to the success of many events in our venue and on campus, are the Office of Conference and Special Events and University Catering.

Parking

Emens Auditorium rests in the heart of the Ball State campus.

Two parking structures are located to the East and South of Emens and provide 1,100 spaces for event parking. In addition, the Student Center parking structure is located two blocks south of Emens.

Ball State shuttle service can also be arranged for a fee.

The access drive-in front of Emens allows patrons unable to walk long distances to be dropped off in front of the complex.

Marketing

Marketing opportunities are available to those interested in promoting their Emens Auditorium or Pruis Hall event. Support can be provided on variety of assets including email marketing, social media, campus outreach, mobile marketing, as well as traditional media advertising. Emens Auditorium maintains a customer database that can be utilized for email promotions and event announcements.

Emens Auditorium can aide in distributing press releases and provide graphic design support when needed. To have your event included on the Emens website (bsu.edu/emens), please provide a high-resolution image and event summary.

Emens Auditorium has a full-service box office and has a team of professionals who can guide you through the ticketing process.

The staff can assist with on-sales, group sales, reports, day-of-event sales, and nationwide Ticketmaster distribution. Once an event is built in the system, patrons can purchase tickets in person at the Margaret “Peggy” Adams Box Office, by mail, by phone, or directly through Ticketmaster.
