Alumni Keith Greenwalt and Marla Templeton, who are husband and wife, have donated more than $50,000 to provide support for Ball State University's women's and men's volleyball programs.
Both certified public accountants, Greenwalt and Templeton have been affiliated with Muncie's Whitinger & Company for most of their professional careers.
A native of Muncie, Greenwalt graduated from Ball State with a bachelor's degree in accounting in 1967. He joined Whitinger in 1976. Greenwalt specializes in providing auditing and consulting services to financial institutions, health care groups and the manufacturing industry.
Templeton, originally from Iowa, received her master's in accounting from Ball State in 1981. She joined Whitinger the same year and specializes in providing tax, accounting, financial planning and estate planning services.
The couple established the Greenwalt/Templeton Family Fund in memory of Keith's son, Zachary Greenwalt, a 2007 graduate of Wes-Del High School who was active in drag racing, four wheeling, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing. Zachary died in a car accident in 2009.
