The School of Art invites the public to attend Posters for Peace: Voices from the Indian Context, an international design collaboration initiated by the South Asian Design Educators Alliance (SADEA). The initiative brings together twenty graphic designers and design educators from India and the United States (of Indian origin) to explore and interpret the idea of peace within the Indian socio-cultural context. October 20 – November 12, 2026. Free and open to the public.

In this workshop, we’ll dive into our own personal experiences to explore how miscommunication arises in intercultural contexts.

Most people know that you can determine the age of some trees by counting their annual growth ring. However, those growth rings can tell us so much more. Measurement of dated tree-rings have been used to determine when the Anasazi built their large community in the American Southwest and to document the mega drought that forced them to leave these homes. After listening to this presentation, you will never look at trees the same way again.
