Art in Bloom is an annual celebration of the David Owsley Museum of Art (DOMA) featuring innovative interpretations created by regional floral designers. This exhibition of floral arrangements will be on view for the public May 16 and 17 with no admission fee and extended hours on both days. (On Friday, May 15, DOMA will host a public "Preview Party" reception from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.)

Join us for tours, activities, music, and more (and parking at non-metered spots on Campus Drive on the Old Quad is free on weekends!). All of the weekend festivities are open to the public with no admission fee. (Registration is only requested for the Paper Flower Workshops due to limited space.)

The following presentations and activities are scheduled (times subject to slight changes):

FRIDAY, May 15:
  • Preview Party from 5:00pm - 7:00pm featuring jazz with the Mark Buselli Trio, a cash bar, hors d'oeuvres, and the first look at the flower arrangements
  • (Please note: the museum will be closed 9am - 5pm for event set-up)

SATURDAY, May 16:

  • Extended museum hours: 1pm - 5pm
  • Enjoy live music in the Sculpture Court with Becky Burkart at 1:00 pm
  • Learn to make a paper flower with Jeanne Zeigler: 1:15pm (REGISTER HERE) and 3:15pm (REGISTER HERE)
  • Guided tours of the flowers: 2pm and 3:30pm
  • Paper flower-making crafts and coloring pages for all ages: 1pm to 5pm

SUNDAY, May 17:

  • Extended museum hours: 1pm - 5pm
  • Enjoy live music in the Sculpture Court with Gary Andry at 1:00pm
  • Learn to make a paper flower with Jeanne Zeigler: 1:15pm (REGISTER HERE
  • Guided tours of the flowers: 2pm and 3:30pm
  • Paper flower-making crafts and coloring pages for all ages: 1pm to 4pm
  • A special musical performance by Mikael Darmanie in honor of David Owsley in the Sculpture Court at 4pm
