Nutrition and Dietetics (MS) - Aspiring Dietitians

Director of Graduate Studies: Bryant Keirns
Program Delivery Method: Blended
Application Term: Fall and Spring
Application Deadline:
  • Applying with DICAS: October 3 or February 6.
  • Applying directly to BSU: Your application must be completed two weeks before the start of the semester you’re planning to enroll or as otherwise directed by the Dietetic Internship Director. Start of term dates can be found on our Academic Calendar.
To complete your application, you will need to upload the following required materials to your Cardinal Landing Portal:
  • Supplemental form: you will need to complete the supplemental form as part of your online application. You can access supplemental form(s) within your Cardinal Landing Portal.
  • DICAS affirmation: you must submit an internship application through DICAS and also register online with D&D Digital for the DICAS application OR be eligible for early action and complete the dietetic internship application packet OR choose to apply directly to the BSU MS/DI and complete the dietetic internship application packet. For early action and direct application, contact Dietetic Internship Director directly for dietetic internship application packet.
  • Transcript/credential evaluation from your highest earned degree: learn more about our transcript/credential evaluation requirements.

DICAS, EARLY ACTION, & DIRECT APPLICATION
A key part of our program will involve participating in the Ball State Dietetic Internship, to which you must apply separately. Consequently, your admission process is two-fold:

  • Apply to Ball State University to be admitted to the degree program.
  • Apply for the Ball State Dietetic Internship as a DICAS, early action, or direct application student. Early action and direct application students will apply via email. DICAS students will apply using the Dietetic Internship Centralized Application System (DICAS) and D&D Digital for DICAS. See the BSU MS/DI Admission Overview document for more information.

The Ball State Dietetic Internship's primary application term is in the Fall; the program may participate in the Spring application (depending on remaining student openings). DICAS applications are typically due in October and February every year. Check with your program director, DICAS, or D&D Digital systems for specific details. Candidates must apply to the MS Nutrition and Dietetics program (not the “online” MS Nutrition and Dietetics program) at the same time they submit their DICAS materials.

Questions about DICAS? If you need assistance with the centralized application or have questions about fees, please contact DICAS customer support at 617/612-2855 or dicasinfo@dicas.org. If you need assistance with DICAS application or have questions about fees, please contact D&D Digital customer support at 515/292-0490 or Info@dnddigital.com. If you have specific questions related to the BSU MS/DI requirements or program, please contact the Dietetic Internship Director.

Additional application materials may be requested to be considered. Students admitted on an earned admission status must earn a minimum GPA of 3.0 in their first 9 semester credits of graduate work or be academically dismissed. Please connect with the director of graduate studies (contact listed above) to discuss application and program earned admission requirements.
