Students studying solely in online degree or certificate programs are expected to complete their studies from their country of residence. Learn more about applying as an international student.

To complete your application, you will need to upload the following required materials to your Cardinal Landing Portal:

  •   Two letters of recommendation:
    • Your application will require two (2) letters of recommendation and should be uploaded by the recommender to your online application by the appropriate deadline. Refer to your application for further instructions.
    • Professional letters of recommendation, typically provided by an employer, teacher, colleague, or another individual who can recommend your work or academic performance, are required for admission. Letters can highlight skills, achievements, work experience, work ethic, and other related areas of your professional background.
  • Supplemental form: You will need to complete the supplemental form as part of your online application. You can access supplemental form(s) within your Applicant Status Portal. On the supplemental form, you will be asked to provide more details about your employment and work history and experience.
  • Resume or curriculum vitae (most recent):
    • Portray your work and educational history in a professional style. List employment in reverse chronological order, and include your title, dates of employment, and an indication of whether each listing was a part-time or full-time job.
    • List your educational records in reverse chronological order and indicate dates of attendance and the degrees you obtained.
    • Include any other information you would normally put on your resume. You'll be able to copy and paste this resume as you fill out the MBA application in the next step.
  • Transcript/credential evaluation from your highest earned degree: learn more about our transcript/credential evaluation requirements.
  • GMAT OR GRE scores:
    • You will need to take either the GMAT or GRE to be considered for admission to our MBA program.
      • The code number for Ball State is 1051. We will accept scores that are current (within the last five years) toward application.
        • GMAT: Receiving the minimum GMAT scores does not guarantee admission to the program. You should strive to achieve a good balance of verbal and quantitative scores. Recently, students admitted to our program had an average composite GMAT score of 550, with a range from 450 to 750. The minimum acceptable scores for the GMAT are:

          • 20 verbal
          • 20 quantitative scores
        • GRE: Earning minimum scores do not guarantee admission into the program. Recently admitted students scored a 151 on the quantitative section and a 151 on the verbal section. The minimum scores for the GRE are:
          • 149 on the quantitative section
          • 149 on the verbal section
      • The GMAT or GRE may be waived for applicants who meet the eligibility criteria by the time they start the MBA program:
