The real estate development minor, newly reorganized and updated in 2024, is an 18-credit program with a core of foundational classes and a host of interesting electives, many taught by professionals working in the field.
I would highly recommend the real estate development minor to anyone interested in learning how buildings actually come to fruition. With subject matters ranging from real estate finance to construction management to property management, the concepts and skills learned from these courses will help students understand what it takes to transform ideas on paper into built reality.
—Jake Dietrich, alumnus with a minor in real estate development, is vice president of acquisitions and development for Indianapolis mixed-use developer Onyx+East
