If you are studying in the fields of psychology, education, or working to build skills to support careers in social, family, health and life sciences, understanding human development is essential. A minor in human development provides you with the opportunity to learn about physical, social, cognitive and emotional development across the lifespan.

  • 12 credits must be taken from a list of required courses
  • six credits may be taken from the core courses or from a list of optional courses

Courses

The Minor in Human Development primarily takes the orientation of comprehensive developmental processes within specific life span time frames. As such, you will choose from courses focused on early childhood, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. Each course addresses developmental perspectives on social, emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and physical conditions.
