The future begins with Urban Planning
Around the world, the pressing issues that communities face call for the expertise, analytical judgement, communication skills, and leadership that Urban Planners provide. The future of housing, the future of mobility, the future of equity, the future of climate resilience, and the future of livability all begin with conversations in urban planning. What can you contribute to this future? Discover it with a degree in urban planning!
An education in urban planning will provide you with a solid grounding in the broad concepts and specific skills needed to excel as an urban planner in the public or private sector. Our industry-aligned curriculum and hands-on learning will outfit you with the expertise and confidence to achieve. A balance of research, history, theory, policy, economics, statistics, geospatial mapping, design, analysis, visual, verbal and written communication round out the diverse tasks and skills that urban planners use on a daily basis. Our alumni go on to work for non-profit services, land development and professional service / consulting firms, transportation authorities, federal departments, municipal and regional planning authorities, housing agencies, and community development agencies. As the pressing issues of the future begin with urban planning, we invite you to help shape the future of communities.
Beginning in fall 2023, completing the CAP first-year program is optional for incoming Urban Planning students. In our alternative entry program, you’ll take two spring planning classes that will get you ready for second-year studies. Contact email@example.com for information.
