About Us
Ball State's Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology has a long history of producing outstanding graduates, as well as service to the community through our clinics. We prepare our students for a variety of exciting careers in speech-language pathology, audiology and related fields.
Our history is a story of a vibrant department where students and faculty work together closely both within the classroom and in clinical settings. The Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology prepares our graduate students to obtain national certification and licensure.
Our graduates go on to become speech-language pathologists, audiologists, researchers and managers in a variety of medical, educational, nonprofit organizations and industrial settings.
Mission Statement
The Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology provides an exceptional, unique and empowered educational experience that prepares its students with the knowledge, understanding, and problem-solving ability necessary for producing outstanding interprofessional clinical services for diverse populations across the lifespan. Graduates of the programs will contribute to the advancement of speech-language pathology and audiology through impactful and inclusive evidence-based clinical practice, research, professional development, and community service as they learn to positively influence the lives of others through local, state, national, and international levels.

We strive to provide a unique, immersive, and progressive educational environment with faculty and staff devoted to the development of academic, research, and clinical skills, which will foster student success. We aspire to be an evolving clinical resource for the people of east central Indiana and beyond, charged with providing the highest level of evidence-based healthcare within our respective professions.
