Services are provided by Ball State doctor of audiology graduate students under the supervision of experienced audiologists licensed by the state of Indiana and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Our clinic offers First Steps to provide early intervention services for the birth to three-year-old population who have loss of hearing.
Our Balance Assessment and Rehabilitation Center features state-of-the-art diagnostic and rehabilitative equipment to treat balance disorders. The center evaluates and focuses on improving balance function.

Having an audiologist complete a comprehensive hearing evaluation is the best way to see if OTC hearing aids will work for you. Audiologists are experts in hearing health care and can help find a device and give important information on how to be successful with that device to fit your individual hearing needs. Audiologists are also able to provide regular hearing evaluation to check your hearing over time.
Who should wear Over-the-Counter hearing aids?
- Must be 18 years or older
- Mild to moderate hearing loss
- You should consult with an audiologist before buying an OTC hearing aid if you have any of the following medical conditions:
- Ear deformity
- Fluid, pus, or blood coming from the ear
- Hearing loss or ringing (tinnitus) that occurs in only one ear or that is noticeably different in once ear
- Pain or discomfort in the earo History of excessive earwax or feeling that something is in the ear
- Pain or discomfort in the ear
- Sudden, quickly worsening, or fluctuating hearing loss
- Vertigo or severe dizziness
