A one-year credit of about $1,000 applied to tuition and fees.

Recipients are eligible for renewal annually, subject to the criteria of this award

Criteria

  • be an incoming freshman or transfer student
  • have a combined Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) verbal, math, and a written score of 1,500 or above

How to Apply

University applications must be completed by March 1 to be considered.

Prospective students who specify physics as a major or an area of study on their Ball State application forms—and who meet the SAT score requirements—are automatically considered for this award.

Applicants will be considered for all awards for which they are qualified.

Final selection will be made on the basis of:

  • financial need
  • character
  • creativity
  • potential for academic excellence

The selection committee is composed of three faculty members of the Department of Physics and Astronomy, the department chairperson, and a representative of the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.
