Award Amount
Two awards consisting of a one-year credit of $1,000 applied to tuition and fees.
Recipients are eligible for renewal annually, subject to the criteria of this award
Criteria
The scholarships are for Ball State University students that declare a major in physics or astronomy, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and have a demonstrated financial need.
How to Apply
You must submit all applications and supporting materials by the first Friday of March to be considered for scholarships for the fall semester. Only students currently enrolled in Ball State—or in process of applying—are eligible for this scholarship.
To apply, submit:
- a completed online scholarship application
- a double-spaced, typewritten autobiography (two or three pages in length) explaining your goals and aspirations in physics or physics teaching and your financial need
- a current transcript of high school (for incoming freshman) or college (for transfer or undergraduate Ball State students) grades
Additionally, you should ask at least two school officials (teachers or administrators) to submit confidential letters of recommendation on your behalf.
