Hi, I’m Jay, an Academic Advisor at Ball State University. I advise the management and applied business studies majors. I grew up in Knightstown, Indiana, and completed my undergraduate degree at Trine University, where my studies included engineering coursework. I am currently pursuing my Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration at Ball State, with an MBA (Business Analytics concentration) serving as my cognate.
As a first-generation college graduate, I’m passionate about supporting students as they navigate higher education and work through the invisible barriers that can impact persistence and success. I especially enjoy helping students build sustainable academic plans that align with both their goals and their realities.
Outside of campus life, you’ll likely find me baking, painting, crocheting, attending rock concerts, or playing Pokémon with my husband — all under the supervision of the many cats who are truly in charge of our household. If you mention pets in a meeting, please be prepared to pay the pet tax in pictures.
