To do well in college, you need three things: friends to support you, talented and caring teachers to take you under their wing, and good daily habits.
We’ve designed a free, three-day experience geared to help you develop all these things. It’s called Jump Start, and it’s free!
First Year Experience
At Ball State, we roll out the Cardinal red carpet for new students. Our distinctive First-Year Experience for first-time freshmen connects you to a vast community of support and empowers you to excel as soon as you arrive here.
Through robust programs and resources, we will help you navigate our campus, embrace new opportunities, and build positive relationships with peers and professors. You’ll successfully transition to college and prepare for a bright future.
Living-Learning Communities
At Ball State, Living-Learning Communities (LLCs) incorporate the university's immersive approach to education directly into the environments of our residence halls.
Through living amongst others in the same field of interest, peer mentoring, resource rooms, maker-spaces, and major-specific experiences—students living in the residence halls are provided a supportive environment as well as an academic advantage!
