The health data analytics concentration of the data analytics major at Ball State University prepares the next generation workforce with the necessary skillsets to explore, visualize, analyze a large volume of health data, and to make data-driven informed decisions. The health data analytics concentration extends the data analytics skillsets to the field of health sciences. This concentration is carefully designed to equip students with quantitative, informatics, and data analytics skills to address challenges in the field of health sciences, including public health surveillance and epidemiology.
Combining foundational knowledge in public health with specialized training in biostatistics, epidemiology, informatics, and research methods, this concentration equips you to analyze health data and generate actionable insights that improve population health, informed policy, and optimize health care delivery.
You’ll gain hands-on experience working with real-world health data, from surveillance systems to electronic health records, and learn how to communicate your findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Graduates are prepared for careers in health care systems, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and research institutions.
