Interim Dean of the College of Architecture and Planning and Professor of Landscape Architecture
On July 1, Dave Ferguson began serving as interim dean of the College of Architecture and Planning (CAP).
Ferguson has extensive experience with the college and appreciates the importance of its legacy. He graduated from CAP, and after eight years in private practice and earning his master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign,
Ferguson joined the faculty of the Department of Landscape Architecture in 1988 to teach and research landscape architecture, urban design, and sustainable design. He has about 20 years of senior administrative experience at Ball State, which includes serving as Associate Vice President for Emerging Media and Executive Director of the Center for Media Design. he is familiar with issues across campus.
In the college, Associate Dean Ferguson and retiring Dean Phil Repp have worked on CAP’s development and have been engaged in all CAP initiatives. Associate Dean Ferguson has fostered connections with alumni in Indiana and across the nation and understands the challenges facing the design and construction environment. He is also involved with the community and is a founding board member of Cardinal Greenway.
