Susan Emmerich Speaks at Ball State University on Environmental Stewardship

Susan Emmerich, former U.S. representative to the United Nations on environmental affairs, presented a lecture on environmental stewardship and conflict resolution on the Ball State University campus at 4 p.m. April 8 in the Forum Room at Pittenger Student Center. Ms. Emmerich has worked as a negotiator for with the US State Department, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the Environmental Protection Agency. She assisted in the production of two Telly Award-winning documentaries on the stewardship efforts of Chesapeake Bay watermen and is now working on a third video. Currently, Emmerich is the founder and CEO of Emmerich Environmental Consulting, an organization that promotes the integration of science, ethics and environmental considerations in community development. Emmerich's visit was sponsored by the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies, the Department of Natural Resources, the Center for Energy Research Education and Service, and the Office of Environmental Studies.
