Prior to beginning measurements it is necessary for the lights to be turned on and allowed to warm up and stabilize their light output. The lights and fan should be turned on and allowed to run a minimum of 10 minutes before measurement begins.
Duck and cover - Entering and Leaving the Sky
Duck into the box to avoid injury

Watch your head and shoulders. The sky chamber is constructed purposely with the horizon at about chest height (4'-6" above floor level). To maintain the continuity of the mirrored surfaces above the horizon, the entry door is constructed below the horizon. This eliminates the concern that a mirrored, swinging door could lead to safety issues or could cause the mirrors to not be perfectly aligned with the door closed and set. However, as a result, users must be extra careful when entering and leaving the chamber. Users must duck down (and stay down) while entering and leaving the sky box. The walls of the skybox are deceptively thick above the horizon to allow for tilting mirror adjustments. It is recommended that users take an EXTRA STEP while ducked down when entering and leaving the device. The inner mirror edge projects in a full 9" beyond the outer door head edge.
