There are many ways campus and community program advocates can help support our remarkable students!

Ways you might share include:

  • SHARE about the program with young people you know who might be potential program participants
  • Share opportunities for recognition, support or funding that might benefit our program with us
  • Share your knowledge of local, state or federal supportive services or programing our students could be utilizing
  • Share about the Guardian Scholars with those you know and love to spread awareness of program services and donor opportunities

Our lives are full of opportunities for advocacy and as one of the most under-represented demographics in the country youth in foster care need outside voices helping them be heard in every arena where decisions are being made, including yours.

Ways you might advocate include:

  • Speaking up when you see an opportunity to advocate for the unique needs of youth exiting foster care as they intersect with your spheres of influence
  • Becoming a Success Seminar presenter if your area of expertise is inline with our campus, life skills or career prep seminar tracks
  • Inviting the Guardian Scholars to speak at an upcoming event or meeting an organization you are involved with is having
  • Joining our budding Guardian Guides network of campus and community professionals designated to provide compassionate support in your department, office or field
