A musicologist specializing in American music, opera, musical theatre, and representations of history on stage, this scholar earned a Ph.D. in Musicology from the University of Michigan in 2025 and a B.A. in Music from the College of William & Mary in 2017. His research examines the intersections of music, race, justice, and historical memory, with a particular focus on musical dramatizations of antebellum U.S. history. Publications include contributions to forthcoming volumes from the University of Michigan Press, University of Illinois Press, and Oxford University Press, as well as reviews in leading journals of music and theatre scholarship.
