The Office of the Provost, Office of Immersive Learning, and the Division of Online and Strategic Learning are now accepting applications for the Summer 2018 Faculty Academy. Formerly known as the Entrepreneurial Summer Academy, this Academic Excellence Grant-funded program will begin May 14, 2018 and has expanded to include three faculty development tracks. More information on these tracks is available below.

This seminar explores the immersive approach to teaching, learning, and community engagement. During the workshop, you will participate in modules and activities to develop a viable immersive learning project, create student-driven learning outcomes for project teams, cultivate a relationship with an external partner, become familiar with potential project funding opportunities, and explore ways to make immersion projects count toward promotion and tenure (if applicable).

This seminar runs during Summer Session I (Monday, May 14 through Friday, June 15, 2018) and is open to full-time teaching faculty (contract, tenure-track, tenured) in any Ball State college and department who will be teaching at least a 2/2 load during the 2018-2019 academic year.

For more information, contact Suzanne Plesha.

Designed to explore innovative pedagogies, this workshop will cover areas of particular interest to contract faculty including discussions about gateway courses and student resiliency. In addition, you will have opportunities to discuss the new promotion track for contract faculty including how to build plans to meet professional goals. Those selected will attend a mandatory organizational meeting on May 7, 2018 to finalize topics and devise a calendar for Summer Session I (Monday, May 14 through Friday, June 15, 2018).

This seminar is open to full-time contract faculty in any Ball State college and department who will be teaching at least a 2/2 load during the 2018-2019 academic year.
