Ball State Alumni Association Awards
Ball State University has nearly 197,000 living graduates worldwide. They are active citizens. They are professionally accomplished. And for nearly 100 years, many have volunteered their time and talents to create a vibrant alumni organization that builds and sustains lifelong relationships between alumni and their alma mater, and among one another.
As a lasting tribute to the alumni who have served with distinction, excelled in their careers, and brought an added luster to the University as a result of their success, we offer the following Alumni Awards.
*Nominations are accepted throughout the year. To be considered for the following year, complete nominations must be received by January 31.
The Ball State University Alumni Association’s highest honor was established in 1959 to recognize alumni for their loyalty and significant contributions to their professions, community and society. Submit your nomination.

Ball State Alumni Association Scholarships
The Alumni Association is pleased to offer three scholarships to deserving students. The information provides information and a link to application forms. Please encourage talented Ball State students, incoming and current, to apply!
Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship
Alumni Association Legacy Scholarships are awarded to selected freshmen and/or currently enrolled students who are children or grandchildren of alumni of Ball State University. The scholarships are one-time, nonrenewable awards. Recipients must demonstrate success in academics and achievement to receive this scholarship. Recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher to remain eligible for the award.
The Ball State University Alumni Council Alumni Legacy Scholarship Committee meets in February to select recipients. For academic year 2018-2019, we awarded 75 $2,500 scholarships. The Alumni Legacy Scholarships are funded by the Ball State Indiana license plate program. Guidelines and Information. The application is only available for Indiana residents. Cardinal Legacy Award
The Cardinal Legacy Awards program is designed to increase enrollment of well-prepared, highly motivated, non-resident students who are children or grandchildren of Ball State University alumni. The program will attract qualified freshmen and transfer students from out of state who would likely choose to remain in their home state to pursue a college education. Learn more.
Robert E. Linson Award
The Robert E. Linson Award was established to promote student involvement in alumni activities. Through the award, it is intended that recognition and financial assistance be provided to Ball State students who contribute their time, energy, and talents to student-alumni related programs at the university. Alumni Communities Scholarships
Many of the Ball State Alumni Association’s regional chapters and groups offer scholarships to Ball State students from their respective, geographical area. Additionally, many collegiate or affinity groups have scholarships available to students based upon their area of study or ethnicity.
