On October 20, 2020, Ball State alumnus David Letterman and Super Bowl champion and longtime Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning visited campus to film an episode of "Peyton's Places." The program is a football-themed documentary series hosted by Mr. Manning and produced by NFL Network in collaboration with ESPN. Letterman insisted the episode be filmed at Ball State, yet another example of his longtime support of the University.

The episode of "Peyton's Places" filmed at Ball State began airing on ESPN+ on January 3.

President Mearns has announced that on January 15 at 6 p.m., in collaboration with ESPN, he will host a virtual watch party for the campus community. Director of Athletics Beth Goetz and Head Football Coach Mike Neu will join Mearns.

Registration for the January 15 virtual watch party is closed, but you can still watch the full episode of "Peyton's Places" on ESPN+.
