"The Circus in Winter" premieres Oct. 23 and runs through Nov. 16 at the Chester, Conn.-based Norma Terris Theatre, home theater of Goodspeed Musicals, which has launched some of the world's most famous musicals, including "Annie," "Shenandoah" and "Man of La Mancha." Inspired by a novel of the same name by Ball State English professor Cathy Day, the musical was first created by Ball State students and staged as a university production in 2011.
