A Florida couple who were Ball State University alumni have donated more than $93,000 through their estate to establish four scholarships.
The late Col. E. Cleon Ginn graduated from Ball State in 1948 with a bachelor's degree in physical education. He earned a master of arts from the university in 1954. He died Dec. 10, 2007.
Ginn's late wife, Mary Gantz Ginn, received her bachelor's degree in choral music in 1943 and her master of arts in 1955. She died Oct. 28, 2005.
The scholarships they have created include:

E. Cleon Ginn Scholarship - To provide scholarships for students majoring in school administration.

Nellie B. Gantz Scholarship - To provide scholarships for students majoring in elementary education. This scholarship was established in honor of Mary Ginn's mother.

Mary L. Gantz Ginn Scholarship - To provide scholarships for students majoring in music.

Richard Alonzo Gantz Scholarship - To provide scholarships for students majoring in science. This scholarship was established in honor of Mary Ginn's father.
