Ball State's student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) recently was honored with a national Merit Award, given by the national association to honor members for involvement in the community, profession and student development.
Jennifer Bott, a marketing and management professor who is the director of the human resource management program at Ball State, is the chapter's faculty adviser. Ball State's human resource management program in the Miller College of Business prepares graduates to assume positions of responsibility and leadership in a wide range of business, government and civic organizations.
This is the second major award for the local chapter in the last year. The national organization honored the Ball State chapter last October for following its guidelines of excellence in education.
