As a young college student, Warren Kilmer benefited from a scholarship awarded by Ball State Teachers College.

Now living in Mulberry, Fla., Kilmer is returning the generosity by giving a $50,000 gift to provide financial aid to Ball State University students.

The fund was established as a way to thank Ball State for the scholarship Kilmer, a doctor, received before he volunteered for military service after the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.

The scholarship was established in honor of Kilmer and his wife Helen, who was a nurse.

Availability of this scholarship fund is dependent upon an award selection process established by Ball State and its academic departments. For specifics, contact the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid at (765) 285-5600 or visit www.bsu.edu/finaid.
