Jennifer Simmons, vice president of Bose Public Affairs Group and High Road Communications, will present "Leadership and Communication" at 7 p.m. Jan. 22 in the Pittenger Student Center, Forum Room.
Simmons, a Ball State alumna, will discuss the means and methods for effectively communicating as a leader. Sponsored by Student Life, the event is free and open to the public.
She has several years of experience in both public and political arenas. At High Road Communications, she conducts crisis management and communications consulting with local government, businesses, nonprofits and other organizations, while also providing strategic political and nonpolitical campaign counseling. Her work at Bose Public Affairs Group includes lobbying state and local legislative bodies as well as government relations counseling.
Previously, Simmons was chief of staff for Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson and directed the day-to-day operations of city government.
After graduating from Ball State in 1994, she worked four years as legal affairs director for the Indiana Port Commission and then two years as executive director for the Casino Association of Indiana.
