Teresa Kennedy
Executive Assistant for Principal Gifts and Campaign Strategy
For Teresa, the math just isn’t adding up. She can’t believe that she’s been with the University since 1999! Kennedy works for the Department of Accounting as Administrative Graduate Program Coordinator. A Muncie native, she spent 13 years in California before returning to Muncie to be closer to her family. She took a leap of faith and quit a full-time job to take a six-week temporary position in the Student Center, and that leap of faith paid off. After six weeks, she was hired as the secretary for University Catering. After working in the Student Center, she moved over to Miller College of Business and worked in Student Services, and the Dean’s Office, and now her home of 11 years here in Paul W. Parkison Department of Accounting.
While working for the Accounting Department, she won the A. Jane Morton Award in 2020. The award recognizes a continual demonstration of outstanding efforts of one person to all segments of the University community.
Teresa earned an associate degree in business administration in 2012 from Ball State while working full-time and raising her family. She is part of a true Cardinal family. Her husband works for Ball State, and she is very proud of her two daughters, who graduated with master’s degrees from Ball State. Chirp, Chirp!
She says the students keep her young. Or, just perhaps it’s by following one of her mottos—“All you need is FAITH, TRUST, and a little PIXIE DUST.” (Peter Pan)
