Celebration of Excellence

The Multicultural center hosts the annual Celebration of Excellence Congratulatory Ceremony to acknowledge the accomplishments of students and to celebrate identity, belonging, culture, and intersectionality. This graduation celebration has been hosted on our campus to honor the historic significance of this achievement to students and families of communities that have historically been underrepresented in higher education. 

Celebration of Excellence Ceremony - The annual Celebration of Excellence graduation ceremony will be held Friday, May 5th at 6:00 p.m. in Pruis Hall. Capacity is limited to the first 150 students who sign-up. Students may bring a maximum of two guests to this event. Please sign up by Friday, April 7th. 

Lavender Graduation

The Office of Student Life hosts the annual Lavender Graduation each April to acknowledge the persistence, and celebrate the accomplishments, of graduates in the Gender, Sexual, or Romantic Minority (GSRM) community. For more information regarding Lavender Graduation, please contact studentlife@bsu.edu

Fall 2021, Spring 2022, and Summer 2022 graduates of all undergraduate and graduate programs are welcome to register. Graduates will receive lavender cords, a rainbow tassel, and a Lavender Graduation certificate as a token of our appreciation. The ceremony will be held Thursday, April 28th at 6 p.m. in Cardinal Halls A & B. Please sign up by Thursday, April 14th.

The Multicultural Center recognizes individuals and organizations for their contributions to the university's commitment to diversity and multiculturalism at their annual achievement awards.
