The Big Dill is Back: The 2nd Annual Pickle Festival!

Come celebrate everything pickle-related at the second annual Pickle Festival! Enjoy a fun-filled afternoon with pickle-themed food, games, and activities that are sure to make your day dill-icious!

Fest Facts:

  • Entry: Free!
  • Activities: All contests, games, and tasting tables are FREE.
  • Food: Special à la carte items are available in the North Dining eateries for purchase using Meal Plan, Dining Plus, Dining Cash, Cash, Credit, or Debit.
  • Decorating Contest Sign-ups: Pick up your cucumber at the North Dining Supervisor office starting April 1st.

  • Pickle-Inspired Feast Available for purchase at North Dining eateries:
    • The Classics: Fried Pickles with Dipping Sauce, Pickle Pizza, Pickle Brats.
    • The Comforts: Dill Havarti Mac & Cheese, Pickle Italian Casserole, Dill Mashed Potatoes.
    • The Main Course: Pickle Meatloaf (Traditional or Impossible™), Pickled Pork Chop, Pickle Soup.
    • The Sweet Treats: White Cake with Pickle Buttercream Icing, Pickle Cookies.
  • Free Tasting Tables: Sample a variety of pickle items and flavors!
  • Pickle Decorating Contest: Show off your artistic side with pickle-inspired creations! Stop by the North Dining supervisor office starting Wednesday, April 1st (it’s no joke!) to sign up and pick up your cucumber, along with the guidelines. Prize for first place!
  • Pickle Tossing Contest: Compete in this fun challenge with your team. Prize for first place!
  • Pickle Flinging Contest: Who can fling their pickle the furthest? No contraptions allowed—just pure arm power. Come see if you have the arm of a champion! Prize for first, second, and third place!
  • Scavenger Hunt: Explore each dining location to find the pickle and win a prize. Just snap a pic of each pickle, and show them to us at the prize table! (You must be in the photo for it to count.)

Any student with a meal plan is welcome to contact us and schedule a one-on-one meeting with Dining’s wellness nutritionist for consulting as it relates to eating at Ball State—from help finding healthy variety to arranging for individual accommodations.

Accommodations

If your dietary needs require special menu planning or special food preparation, please have your doctor fill out our dietary needs form. We’ll then contact you to learn more about your individual requirements.

We have two Top-9 Allergen Free locations on campus. One is located in North Dining, and one is located within The Atrium.

At each location, you can create custom, made-to-order items such as rice bowls, salads, sandwiches, stir fry, and pizzas with a variety of bases, toppings, seasonings, dressings, and sauces. All ingredients are free of the Top-9 allergens.

You can find the items they offer at each location on NetNutrition, where you can build your meal and see its nutritional information.

Are you going on a day-long field trip? Student teaching off campus? Use these forms to order a sack meal from Ball State Dining for pick-up Monday through Friday.

Forms must be submitted at least 24 hours before selected pick-up time.
