Award winning jazz vocalist Alexis Cole will perform with jazz faculty.

A dozen albums into her career, vocalist Alexis Cole is hitting her stride. She’s the founder and director of the online educational community JazzVoice.com, and the artistic director of the Virginia Beach Vocal Jazz Summit. Her student Samara Joy won the 2023 Grammy for Best New Artist. Alexis’ latest release Sky Blossom: Songs from My Tour of Duty reflects the repertoire created for her to sing with 18 piece big band during her time as the vocalist for the Army’s Jazz Knights. 2023 sees her touring the world with Both Sides of Joni, a reimagining of Joni Mitchell’s music. Alexis' latest endeavor is MusicAuditions.com, a website to connect musicians to employers.

Parking

Parking is available in the McKinley Parking Garage (entrance on Ashland Avenue) located immediately south of Sursa Hall. On weekdays, metered parking ($1/hr) is available on the first floor of the garage until 7 p.m. at which time parking is free. This garage is free on weekends.
