In this presentation, I will describe a decade-long research collaboration based on the development of small molecule inhibitors of quorum sensing in Vibrio bacteria. This collaborative project formed the foundation of a course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE) that has been offered at IU since 2016, and more recently led to the formation of the biotechnology company, Quornix
