Thomas Robertson received his PhD in astronomy from Case-Western University in 1978 and joined the faculty of Ball State University in the fall of that year. He is actively involved in research in observational stellar astronomy and galactic structure. Robertson teaches primarily general education astronomy courses with assignments in introductory astrophysics courses for astronomy minors and graduate students. He also has been active in the development of teacher workshops in astronomy for middle school and high school teachers. Robertson has been a leader in the assessment of academic programs in the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
