The certificate is an important step in becoming a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA). If you are interested in taking the BCBA exam and receiving this credential, there are a few requirements you need to complete, in addition to earning your certificate.
To be eligible for the BCBA exam, you must:
- Have a master's degree in any field or higher
- Complete supervised field experience hours (Note: supervision hours are managed by students, independent from their program at Ball State)
- Complete two additional courses beyond those required for the certificate (i.e., 7 courses for 21 credits total)
This course sequence is considered a verified course sequence (VCS) for students who will apply for the BCBA exam, under the 5th edition task list. If you have any questions or concerns, contact Ball State Online at online@bsu.edu, 765-285-1581, or toll-free at 800-872-0369.

Specific courses may vary slightly based on student objectives. For effective program planning and accelerated 8-week course options, a discussion of your career goals with an advisor is highly recommended.
