Cardinal Screenplay Festival

MDIA 344 Media Promotion students planned and executed the Cardinal Screenplay Festival, a screenplay table read event that celebrated the work of ENG 410 Advanced Screenwriting students. Students created a budget, planned catering, worked with vendors, set up and tore down, met deadlines, and worked as a team. A CCIM grant funded this event. See the full photo gallery.

Eaton Public Library Art Show

Students in MDIA 345 Advanced Media Promotion planned and executed an art show to benefit Eaton Public Library in rural Delaware County. Students called on local businesses and asked for sponsorships to support the show. Students also planned all aspects of the show. They set up and tore down the day of, designed promotional materials, and worked the day of the event. A CCIM grant funded the event. See photos.

The Man Haters Fundraiser

MDIA 345 Advanced Media Promotion students helped the Delaware County Historical Society plan a sesquicentennial fundraiser screening of a silent film shot in Muncie in 1915. Students created the promotional materials, called on local businesses for sponsorships and donations, and worked the night of the event.

Film and Media Studies students pose in front of the Alamo after presenting papers at the Joint Conference of the National Popular Culture & American Culture Association and the Southwest/Texas Popular Culture & American Culture Association in San Antonio, Texas. Students presenting papers included: Rory Killelea, “Modern Family: An Illusion of Progressivity?” and Leigh Montano, “R2D2: Savior of the Galaxy”
