Developed with the input and support of industry partners, the Broadcast and Media Engineering Minor helps students develop the skills needed to work for professional sports leagues and teams, broadcast and cable outlets, streaming media production and delivery organizations, universities, churches, and theatres.
This in an interdepartmental minor housed in both the Department of Media and the
Center for Information and Communication Sciences. This minor is open to all majors

- Explain physical layer protocols, services, and network media support communications across data networks
- Design and implement broadcast and media infrastructures
- Diagnose, fix, and operate media equipment
- Research, design, troubleshoot and operate control room environments
- Solve technical, creative, logistical, and interpersonal problems during live professional broadcasts
