Mission Statement
The mission of the Ball State University Athletic Training Program is to provide an innovative curriculum to develop clinical scholars who are committed to delivering high-quality patient-centered care within an interprofessional health care team. We aspire to develop students who are dedicated to maintaining
involvement within the profession through clinical practice and service.
Program Outcomes
Our program has developed outcomes that align our mission with the mission of the Ball State University, the College of Health and the School of Kinesiology.
- Outcome 1 – Students utilize quality improvement, health care informatics and evidence-based decision-making to provide patient-centered care.
- Outcome 2 – Students demonstrate competence in athletic training knowledge and clinical skills to provide the best possible patient care.
- Outcome 3 – Students promote themselves and the field of athletic training through professional and community involvement.
- Outcome 4 – Students display the interpersonal skills needed to communicate and collaborate within an interprofessional health care team.
- Outcome 5 – Students model professional and ethical behaviors when representing themselves as a health care professional.
- Outcome 6 – Students display empathy to improve interaction with patients to facilitate positive health outcomes.
CAATE Program Information and Outcomes
Ball State University’s Master of Science in Athletic Training is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). Our program is accredited through the 2025-2026 academic year and will undergo a comprehensive review at that time.
