Biography
Christopher Thompson is the author of The Tour de France: A Cultural History (University of California Press, 2006; paperback, 2008), as well as of articles on the political, social, and cultural history of bicycling in France.  He is currently working on his second book, which examines immigration, identity, and the legacies of colonialism in contemporary France. Thompson has been awarded Ball State University's Excellence in Teaching Award three times since 2002, as well as the university's Master's Thesis Advisor Award.  He teaches introductory surveys in Western and World History, as well as upper-level undergraduate and Master's seminars in Modern French and Modern European History.
