In the College of Health we truly believe our students are what makes us thrive. Our students belong here and through our programing we are dedicated to fostering that sense of belonging, friendship and community for each individual student.

Summer Jumpstart Program

The Office of Student Success oversees the College of Health Jumpstart program. This is a first-year transition program for incoming students. Participants move directly into their assigned residence hall room and engage in numerous fun activities with College of Health faculty and staff. Fun follow up events take place throughout the academic year to keep the momentum going!

Past activities have included:

  • Amazing Race-themed scavenger hunt with Teachers College
  • Clifton Strengths Assessment
  • Clinic immersion experience
  • Learning how to cook nutritious meals
  • MITS Bus demonstration
Regular Student Programming

Students at Fire up for Finals

At the end of each semester, before finals, the SSC provides our students with snacks to wish them luck and give them some fuel to study!

College of Health Student Success Center weeks of welcome, three female students enjoying refreshments

The SSC hosts several events during the first few weeks of the fall semester. Our most popular event is the outdoor Interprofessional Tent Event, which provides many interactive activities, such as CPR demonstrations, blood draw demonstrations, and the opportunity to use our audiology equipment to look inside your ear.

Campus Partnerships

Living Learning Communities

The Student Success Center and the Living Learning Communities work together to provide programming to health professions students living on campus.

Career Center

The Career Center assists with bringing Employer Engagement opportunities, such as job fairs and specialized networking events. The Student Success Center has worked with the Career Center to bring some of the largest health care providers in Indiana right to our students! Most recently these have included the Indiana Health Care Association (IHCA), Reid Health, and Parkview Health.

Admissions

The Student Success Center is the point of contact for University Admissions. All Preview Days, Transfer Days, and other admission events are coordinated through this office. If you’d like to visit us, please schedule an appointment through university admissions.
