Multicultural Student Organizations

Student organizations are open to any currently enrolled Ball State University student without regard to race, religion, color, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, disability, genetic information, ethnicity, national origin or ancestry, protected veteran status, or other legally protected category, unless the student organizations' memberships restriction is shown to be specifically allowed by law.

Asian Student Union

The Asian Student Union, formerly known as The Asian American Student Association (AASA) provides programming to strengthen cultural pride and help develop a campus environment conducive to cultural appreciation. Learn more.

The Black Student Association (BSA) helps students grow and develop through cultural, social, and academic discussions and programs from an African-American perspective. Learn more.

Latinx Student Union

The Latinx Student Union (LSU) promotes the identity and unity of Latinx students through intellectual, cultural, and social growth. Learn more.

Spectrum

Spectrum educates the Ball State and Muncie communities on lesbian, bisexual, gay, and trans issues, cultures, and history through various programming efforts. Learn more.

Student Advisory Council

The Student Advisory Council is a voice for the entire SOA student body. They share student perspectives on classes/schedules, majors and minors, and events like speakers, exhibitions, awards, and celebrations.

BSU Art Education Club

The Art Education Club is a social and professional development organization devoted to the promotion of art learning and the betterment of art educators. If you have a passion for spreading a love of art, we're the group for you. The Art Education Club also functions as Ball State's chapter of the National Art Education Association (NAEA). Art History Club

The Art History Club works to foster community across disciplines in Ball State's School of Art through shared interest and discussion in art and its history, participating in, or hosting events related to the history and contemporary practice of art. Learn more.

Clay Guild

The Clay Guild cultivates awareness and advances education in the ceramic arts by sponsoring visiting ceramic artists, field trips, and ceramic art exhibitions or publications. The Clay Guild strives to establish a close association between Ball State University and the surrounding community by sponsoring ceramic art and charitable fundraising events like the Chili Bowl, which raises funds to fight hunger. Glass Art Alliance

This organization is open to all students interested in glass art. The Alliance hosts workshops, sales, and other community events. They use their funds to send students to glass conferences and competitions and to invite visiting glass artists to campus. Learn more.

Independent Animation Collaborative

The Independent Animation Collaborative is a group for students passionate about animation. The IAC fosters a home for connection, networking, professional development, and fun, around all things animation, and work together to create an independent film each year. Animators, illustrators, designers, musicians, actors, sound artists, 3D artists, and others are welcome. Events are open to all in the Muncie Community, regardless of major. Learn more.

Metals Guild

The Metals Guild at Ball State University is a collective of Metalsmiths or those wishing to pursue interests in the field. There is a shared desire to learn and build lifelong skills as well as connect and network with artists from around the country. The Guild hosts multiple annual sales, which aids in the attendance of national conferences throughout the year. They also assist with incoming visiting artists, who share their techniques and passion for process. The Metals Guild also hosts its own workshops, where both new and current members will be able to learn from each other, to build confidence in their practices. Learn more.

One Creative

One Creative is a student-led organization for all students interested in design. The organization's goals are to cultivate a community within creative fields, provide professional development and networking opportunities, and constructive feedback for academic and personal projects. Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA)

The Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA) at Ball State is an organization for anyone interested in the printing and graphics industry. Membership is open to all majors. TAGA welcomes anyone who is curious or would like to learn more about design, print, and publication. TAGA provides members with opportunities for leadership, professional development, and to build industry skills. These opportunities include designing and printing products such as apparel and stickers for clients, participating in design competitions, and attending conferences and expositions related to the field.
